Pastor Christopher A. Wimberly, Sr. 

As the Senior Pastor of Hunter Hill First Baptist Church of Atlanta, Georgia, Christopher A. Wimberly’s dynamic preaching approach equips and empowers the saints and touches the hearts of believers and non-believers.

 

A native of Winder, Georgia, Pastor Wimberly was born to Deacon Robert and Mrs. Rachel Wimberly. He studied religion at Gainesville College in Gainesville, Georgia and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. He was also the recipient of the distinguished Paul A. Anderson Scholarship at Beulah Heights Bible College in Atlanta, Georgia. 

 

At the young age of 19, Pastor Wimberly was called to preach God’s Word. He was licensed in 1997 and in 1999, he began his pastorate at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Hartsville, Tennessee, where he faithfully served for five years. Since June 2004, he has served as the visionary and God’s undersheperd at the historic Hunter Hill First Baptist Church in NW Atlanta. Wimberly is dedicated to “taking the church beyond the walls,” and has successfully done so throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and by integrating the core principles of his E7 Vision. This vision includes Evangelizing and Enlightening the Sinner, Embracing and Encouraging the Suffering, Equipping and Empowering the Saints, and Exalting the Savior. 

 

A spirited orator, Wimberly’s prolific messages make him a sought-after revivalist and preacher across the country. As the owner and operator of Wimberly Funeral Home in Gainesville, Georgia, he is also a gifted entrepreneur who leads with a servant’s heart. 

 

He is married to First Lady Felicia, and they are the proud parents of their daughter, Jahri, and their son, Christopher, Jr. Pastor Christopher A. Wimberly, Sr. is truly a man of God, leading the people of God, to do the will of God.
